Podfeeder Client FAQ

I have a previous version of the client, can I install the new version over it?

There are a few core files that are found within the resources/ directory of your podfeeder install. As long as you keep those files around, your settings, and history will be kept.

Installing a newer version of the Podfeeder client will not overwrite these core files. So installing the new version should be just fine.

I've updated my podcast collection, but the client doesn't grab my new podcast shows

The desktop client is set up to check your podcast collection a few times an hour to make sure that it has a current list of your podcasts. If you have found that you aren't getting your new podcast shows, you can force an update. You can do this by clicking on the Podfeeder logo in your system tray, mouse over Podcasts, then click on 'Update Collection'.

What is a Default Genre?

Both iTunes and Windows Media Player have a genre field that is set from your media file. With the Podfeeder client, you can decide which genre you want all of your podcasts to have.

This helps when sorting through your media library. Imagine the benefit of being able to sort by 'my podcasts', 'podcast', or 'podcasts' as a genre.

Here is a sample of what the genre field looks like in iTunes.
